Evidence of Work
After finishing all of Design Step 1, l our group began working on brainstorming design concepts. We did this using Padlet again, talking with our mentors, forming Design Matrix's, and making a Classification Scheme. The Classification Scheme helped us lay out which concepts we liked best and what each part did specifically to improve or stall the progress of making our Bicyclean Bike final design.
Content
This document details 3 Design sketches that me and two of my other group mates came up with.
We then divided these Design Possibilities into smaller more focused ideas to examine which parts work best with one another, in hopes to make the costs and performance more efficient.
This was our final take for the Classification Scheme.
This was our first take on the Classification Scheme, as you can tell it's pretty barebones so we had a lot of reworking to do, but thankfully everything worked out in the end.
Reflection
This was by far the hardest its been for me and my group on the project. There were two main things it felt like that dragged us down, the first being us not communicating enough. I would send a message asking about when we can talk and stuff but I'd only get one answer out of a group of four. To be fair, I should have made it more clear myself that we NEEDED to communicate if my group were to succeed doing this project. The next thing we did poorly was assigning work, it felt like only two or three of us were doing work and everything just felt very unconnected communication wise. I will say though that one of our group members has since apologized and since then has been doing great and putting in the effort we need for our project. One thing I learned about myself was that if I don't communicate strongly enough, the receiver will either not get the message or receive it poorly. This doesn't mean that I have to act mean, I just need to be a bit more stern I suppose sometimes. In conclusion, I feel like my group and I see our current errors and are fixing them, I also feel like we communicate more than before which is a huge plus.
